    UNW-DPC at the CRIC-11

    On Thursday, April 19th, at the eleventh session of the Convention to Combat Desertification's (CCD) Committee for the Review of the Implementation of the Convention (CRIC 11) in Bonn, UNW-DPC presented the UN-Water Initiative on "Capacity Development to Support National Drought Management Policies" (NDMP) on behalf of its co-organizers, WMO, UNCCD and FAO.

    UNW-DPC at Wasser Berlin

    UNW-DPC contributed to Wasser Berlin from 23 - 26 April, organizing a session within the International Forum together with UNESCO-UNEVOC on "New Trends in Water-Related Capacity Development" and staffing a pavilion, including other members and partners of UN-Water.     Kick-off of the "Capacity Development to Support National Drought Management Policies" UN-Water Initiative

    WMO, UNCCD, FAO and UNW-DPC kicked off a UN-Water initiative on "Capacity Development to Support National Drought Management Policies" in March 2013, with upcoming workshops around the world. Visit the initiative's platform here and view the full summary report here.

    UNW-DPC's has dedicated its 16th regular newsletter, the "Capacity Pool", to the topic of "Capacity Development for Water Cooperation." It includes an overview of several UN-Water capacity development initiatives and interviews with two of the official supporting agencies for the International Year of Water Cooperation.     UNW-DPC at "Water in the Anthropocene" Conference

    UNW-DPC was actively present at the "Water in the Antropocene: Challenges for Science and Governance" conference in Bonn from 21 - 24 May, taking part in a special session on "Capacity Development: a Key Challenge of Putting Sustainable Water Resources Management Into Practice".     UNW-DPC organized two sessions together with UN-Water members and partners at the 5th Delft Symposium for Water Sector Capacity Development in May: one together with UN-Habitat on "Good Practices in E-learning on Water Sector Capacity Development", and another on "Capacity Development for Water Cooperation - Cases of Success".
